Biscuit joint

Mortise and Tenon Joint
One piece of wood has a hole (mortise) and another piece has a tongue (tenon) that fits into it. It's one of the strongest joints, used in furniture making.

Dado joint - often cut with a "dado set", a set of blades for the table saw that can be installed together to build up the width of the joint. Other tools such as a hand router or CNC router can also cut dado joints.
